π My Story
Hi, I’m Donna J. Jodhan.
I’m a blind advocate, and I’m raising $440 USD ($600 CAD) to retake my CompTIA Network+ Exam through Pearson VUE.
I spent months studying for this certification and adapting inaccessible course materials into a study method that worked for me. By the time I arrived for my first Network+ attempt on October 1, 2025, I had put in an enormous amount of time, effort, and preparation.
But once the exam began, the first question relied on diagrams that the assigned reader could not properly describe. Verified ALT descriptions were not available for the reader to use, and several additional questions also involved diagrams. I was not stopped by lack of effort or lack of study. I was stopped by an accessibility barrier in the way the exam was delivered that day.
After I spoke up and documented what happened, CNIB stepped in and sent a letter to Pearson VUE on my behalf. Pearson later offered retesting options that addressed the concerns from my first attempt, and I agreed to retake the exam on May 26, 2026.
You can read the entire account of my experience here: https://donnajodhan.com/apex-comptia-pearson-blind-testing-experience/.
Now I need help covering the $440 USD required to sit for that retake.
This fundraiser is for one specific purpose: helping me pay the retake fee so I can move forward with a fair opportunity to complete the Network+ exam under accessible conditions. If this fundraiser goes beyond the goal, any extra amount will first help offset payment-processing shortfalls and then go only toward directly related retake or accessibility costs. I will post updates so donors can see exactly what happens.
This retake matters to me personally, but it also matters more broadly. No blind test taker should spend months preparing, show up with approved accommodations, and still be blocked by inaccessible exam delivery.
Thank you so much for reading, for donating if you can, and for sharing this page. If you’re unable to give, sharing this fundraiser with a few people who care about accessibility, education, and fair opportunity would mean a great deal to me.
